Your Role
If you were a successful candidate your job role would be to ensure efficient and profitable performance through satisfying and retaining customers, maximise sales of parts, labour and any other products / services to trade and retail customers and ensure customer satisfaction and service at all times.
Your Responsibilities
- Implement action plans to increase service and trade parts sales and profit
- Sales and profit targets through reviewing financial and operational performance data, taking action to meet targets
- Manage the ‘day to day’ operational activities of the Service Centre
- Develop and improve the operational efficiencies of the Service Centre
- Advise on mechanical and diagnostic problems
- Control expenses in line with budget, taking corrective action when required
- Maintain workshop productivity records and co-ordinate the effective use of labour
- Implement a performance management system to develop the personal and technical skills of Service Centre staff to support improvements in job performance and customer service
- Ensure all administrative functions are completed accurately and on time
- Administer the warranty policy in the best interests of the customer, company and manufacturer
- Monitor quality & report product defects to the manufacturer
- Ensure the maintenance of tools and equipment and cleanliness of all operating areas within a planned maintenance programme
- Represent the Service Centre and build strong relationships with manufacturer representatives, suppliers and statutory representatives
- Any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time
Your Skills and Knowledge
- Technical and engineering qualifications
- Experience of the retail automotive industry
- Customer focused with sales experience
- Attention to detail: ability to ‘get it right first time’
- Valid driving licence
- Current vehicle legislation knowledge
- Commercially competent
- Ability to manage and motivate people / teams
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, numerate and fully IT literate.
