IT Support Officer
Our client based in Saffron Walden, is looking for an experienced IT person to join their team to help carry out support, maintenance, configuration and administration of all applications and operating system hardware, software and telecoms equipment.
The role will include:
1st Line Support
* Responding to IT Help Desk calls and diagnosing problems and incidents relating to:
- Servers and PCs connected to both NT and Unix platforms
- All Microsoft related products
- All software applications
- LANs and WANs including network peripherals
2nd Line Support
* Responding to all 2nd line support queries, problems and incidents
* Examining error logs
Support Liaison
* Liaison with 3rd parties to oversee work done including 3rd line support, instillation and implementation of infrastructure and components
Install & Configuration
* To install and configure desktop, server and network components, operating systems and DMBS software
Network Management
* Monitor system performance
* Identifying and resolving basic networking faults
Systems Admin & Reporting
* Operate and perform administration of the Sun Solaris System, including user, menu and profile maintenance, printer, setting permissions, back up and restore functions
* Create or amend special reports using Oracle Data Query upon request
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within a Microsoft server/desktop/office environment.
UNIX, Crystal Reporting and Access experience is desirable but not essential.
Hours of work are 35 per week monday - friday and will be between 8.00am - 7.30pm; you will also be required to work a approx one saturday per month 8.30am - 1.00pm for which you will receive extra remuneration
