New professional marketing qualifications launched

A framework has been outlined for new pan-European marketing qualifications for professionals.
European Marketing Confederation (EMC) has introduced the guidelines following a meeting last month, in which the European Marketing Certifications and Qualifications (EMCQ) framework was discussed.
Around 250,000 marketing professionals in 15 member states will be affected by the development.
Carlos Manuel de Oliveira, the chairman of the EMC, said: "EMCQ accredits qualifications based on profiles, competences and skills in the marketing, communications and sales arena which the EMC suggests will be a common path for the development of professional marketing careers all over Europe."
He added that the EMCQ will soon be a must-have qualification for any discerning professional's CV.
Furthermore, Mr Manuel de Oliveira noted that marketing professionals will be provided with "a sound development path for responsible business management" via the qualification.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing and The Marketing Institute are members of the EMC.
