Insurance company Direct Line is to create around 160 jobs in Glasgow, many of them telephone-based customer service jobs.
The firm has decided to locate its new Centre of Expertise for Customer Service in Glasgow and moved into a new 80,000 sq ft office in the city earlier in the year.
Direct Line announced at the time that it would be expanding and that 1,100 staff would be based at the location by 2008, the Herald reports.
The majority of the new roles will be in customer services, with other opportunities in sales and service support, the firm said.
Roles will be mainly telephone-based and will span the whole range from customer service representatives to managers and supervisors.
Around 950 members of staff are currently employed at the location and the 160 new jobs to be created in the next year will bring the total to 1,100.
