Personal fulfilment is the main objective of females in the workplace, a new survey has found.
Conducted by Diva-Biz, a website for women in business, has found that 51 per cent of females place personal fulfilment in their career as their number one objective, while 23 per cent named financial gains as important, onrec.com reports.
Founder of Diva-Biz Fiona Price explains that women place less value on status and financial reward.
"The fact that business women are driven by personal fulfilment is helpful in explaining the strong emphasis women place on culture, teamwork, ethics and excellence in bus," she remarks.
Furthermore, the 53 per cent of the respondents noted that male senior management do not recognise the value of female leaders in the workplace.
Yet, results also show that women control the purse strings in the family home, not men.
The UK Chartered Management Institute revealed earlier this week that more women are seeking job changes than has been recorded in the past five years.
