A pharmaceutical firm could create a number of new jobs in Wales as a result of building a new manufacturing facility in Wrexham, according to reports.
The owners of Ipsen Biopharm have said that they are to invest £37.3 million in the firm in order to increase production capacity once the facility is completed in 2010.
According to the Daily Post, Wrexham MP Ian Lucas said that he wished to see the investment result in plenty of new roles for local jobseekers.
"Such a level of investment in the firm's Wrexham site is a major vote of confidence for the area and its people and is excellent news for my constituents," he said.
He added that it was "heartening" that a large global firm such as Ipsen Biopharm wanted to conduct its business in Wrexham.
The BBC today reported that about 150 new jobs could be created near Bridgend in Wales if plans to expand the privately-owned Parc Prison gain approval from the Home Office.
