Top quality staff are essential to the future success of car dealerships, it has been said.
Recruitment must become the key focus of employers in the industry, managing director of Experian's automotive division Kirk Fletcher has stated.
"The trading environment is changing and it is becoming increasingly important to attract and retain the right employees in order to have a competitive advantage. Dealers have to be as on the ball when it comes to recruiting staff," he commented.
Mr Fletcher remarked that the sector is traditionally male-dominated - something which could put women off from applying to vacancies at car dealerships.
Recruitment is also important for the industry as it has a very high turnover of staff, he added.
Luxury car company Rolls Royce stated earlier this year that it will be restructuring the business with the loss of 2,300 jobs.
