Mobile phone operator Vodafone has agreed to team up with handset maker Nokia to provide a "seamlessly integrated" suite of services for consumers.
In a statement Vodafone, the world's largest mobile operator by revenue, said that Nokia had agreed to integrate its internet and entertainment services for a wide range of handsets.
A number of the Nokia handsets will be exclusive to Vodafone, the company stressed.
Vodafone says the agreement with Nokia will allow mobile users to get faster and easier access to its web and entertainment provisions, while customers will also be able to access Nokia's own online services.
For example both the Nokia music store and Vodafone's own music service will be available on Nokia's 2008 handsets a move Vodafone claims will result in a greater choice of music for customers.
The mobile phone operator said the deal would see consumers offered a greater choice of communications, internet services, content and browsing across a range of premium handsets on high speed 3G and 3G broadband networks.
"We're pleased to be working with Nokia in leading the industry to bring customers a complete suite of Vodafone communications, browsing, content and internet services," said Vodafone's global chief marketing officer Frank Rovekamp.
"This is a logical step for Vodafone to make, further improving our customer experience with many of the services already launched with leading internet partners," he added.
Anssi Vanjoki, executive vice president of multimedia at Nokia, said: "We're excited to work with Vodafone to provide consumers with internet services like navigation, music, games and communities to make their life richer and more enjoyable, independent of time and place."
