The unions representing tanker drivers have reached agreement with company bosses at Shell in their dispute over pay averting another four day strike this weekend.
The unions had been looking for a 13 per cent pay rise although Shell were offering six per cent.
Union representatives refused to make public the deal they have reached saying only that they "were delighted to have reached an agreement" they could recommend to their members. The recommendation of the unions make it likely the drivers will accept the pay deal.
