The BBC has announced that more jobs are to move north.
In total, 1,620 jobs at the beeb are to be relocated to Salford, Greater Manchester, representing a ten per cent increase on the 1,500 jobs originally publicised as moving.
The BBC's chief operating officer, Caroline Thomson, announced the decision while launching the BBC Connect and Create Partnership at the University of Huddersfield.
She noted that MediaCity:UK in Salford is set to become a "true network centre".
"And with a stronger BBC presence, there will be even greater potential for Manchester, Salford and the whole of the north of England to become a world-class centre of media innovation and technology for the 21st century," she said.
The latest posts to be relocated from London are some in the BBC News division, journalists from BBC Radio 5 Live and the Future Media & Technology division.
In May last year, the BBC closed 200 posts involved with its online education service BBC Jam.
