Training professionals earn more money than human resources managers for the first time in ten years, the latest set of figures have revealed.
According to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), learning, training and development professionals now earn an average of £45,000. This is an increase from £37,739 on the year previous.
CIPD reward adviser Charles Cotton remarked staff are being trained up to fill internal vacancies, which means training managers must be rewarded accordingly.
"The survey shows that learning, training and development professionals are currently the shock troops in the war for talent and the search for sustainable high performance working," he commented.
He added that bosses are now seeing the importance of equipping their staff with valuable skills.
HR was described as key to the future success of the NHS recently by health secretary Alan Johnson, as it will help create an efficient health service.
