One firm's last round of graduate recruitment was a success, it has emerged.
According to Bourne Business Consulting, two assessment centre days allowed the firm to hire eight top graduates, Online Recruitment magazine reports.
Ian Mackie, executive partner at Bourne, told the website that the university leavers had to pass a series of tests before being offered a job and were put straight in at the deep end when starting with the firm.
"The trainees were involved in client work within the first two weeks of joining us and our emphasis on giving them the opportunity to be fully involved in interesting, practical work is one of the reasons why we're successful in retaining our staff," he said.
Mr Mackie stated that 2007's intake was a "100 per cent" increase compared to the previous year.
A survey by the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) has forecast an increase in graduate vacancies this year.
