A new poll has revealed the top 50 companies where women would like to work.
The list was compiled by the Times newspaper and Aurora, a firm which helps businesses advertise jobs towards women, and was open to private, public and academic organisations with 1,000 or more employees.
Dominating the list were a large number of financial services, professional services and IT companies, destroying stereotypes regarding the kind of industries women choose.
Companies included Accenture, Deloitte, IBM and fast-food chain McDonalds.
The 50 companies were listed alphabetically rather than ranked, reflecting the varying needs of different women and were identified using criteria such as inspiring leaders, work/life balance, innovative recruitment and workforce diversity.
Britannia Building Society was one of the companies that made the list and was particularly commended in areas of equal pay, flexible working, employee satisfaction and its approach to diversity.
Britannia's group diversity manager Sarah Emery said: "Part of Britannia's strategy is to be a great place to work, grow and develop and this award demonstrates how we are striving to achieve this."
