The technology sector is attracting a lot of graduates, one expert has said.
According to Ian Robertson, the chief executive of the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship, this "new" area of the economy is enticing degree holders looking for employment.
Technology is an "understandable" route for graduates to take as it is a "highly visible" career path, Mr Robertson said.
What's more, he added, technology is responsible for the growth of a large part of the economy.
However, Mr Robertson noted that most graduates prefer the creative side of the industry.
"There is a strong presence of graduates in the creative and design businesses but we need to encourage more science and engineering graduates to be setting up high impact businesses," he stated.
National Science and Engineering Week events taking place this week are aimed at encouraging more people into the science and engineering industry.
