The number of people applying for teacher training courses has increased by over ten per cent, it has been revealed.
According to the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA), it is beginning to look like an attractive career due to the 13 weeks of holiday teachers receive.
Furthermore, the TDA states that the profession is also much better paid than many people realise.
A spokesperson for the organisation described some of the other benefits, saying that "people can apply for key worker housing" as well as receiving good pension schemes and the chance to progress quickly.
"Also, the mobility - you can move around and teach at different schools," the spokesperson added.
Additional statistics from the TDA have revealed that teacher recruitment internet enquires are up by 45 per cent and 1,238 people have logged on to follow Facebook teachers.
