Tailoring their CVs is one of the most important things jobseekers can do to increase their chances of finding employment, they have been advised.
Writing for the Telegraph, James Cann states that getting a CV written professionally could prove to be a very fruitful move for the unemployed.
However, he says that if this is not possible, people must ensure they are using their CV as a message to any potential employer about why they would be so good in that particular role.
To do this, candidates should tailor their CV to highlight their accomplishments, rather that listing every position they have ever held.
Mr Cann adds: "A prospective employer will only glance at it for a few seconds - don't risk your chances by suggesting you're a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none."
Research from BackCheck recently revealed that as the recession continues, more and more people are being caught lying on their CVs.
