UK employees would rather receive a cash bonus at Christmas than have a festive office party, results of a new survey have shown.
The research conducted by Monster found that 90 per cent of respondents would prefer cash to a Christmas bash, extra holiday or shopping vouchers, Onrec.com reports.
Furthermore, 66 per cent of employees said they do not look forward to office parties and would rather spend their time with friends or family.
For those companies which are having some festive fun this year, the website has some money-saving tips and suggests: "Use the office for the Christmas party. You can decorate it to create a festive atmosphere, and the money saved can instead be spent on food, drink or entertainment."
A recent poll by People 1st recently found that office banter between colleagues can improve job satisfaction for employees, Onrec.com reported.
