There is a shortage of accountancy and finance professionals around the world that is starting to be felt by the top companies, a study has found.
According to the Robert Half International Global Financial Employment Monitor, human resources staff around the globe have reported difficulties in recruiting skilled candidates.
Over 5,000 companies were surveyed, to find that 56 per cent have had difficulties in recruiting suitable candidates, although in Japan and Hong Kong the figures were much higher with 83 per cent and 82 per cent reporting difficulties respectively.
Chairman and chief executive of Robert Half International Max Messmer said that he expected the challenge to become even more difficult in years to come.
Phil Sheridan, the UK managing director added that big benefits packages are being offered in the industry to help attract recruits.
"With this demand outstripping supply, organisations are expediting the hiring process and offering premium remuneration packages in order to attract and retain these high-level individuals," he remarked.
A recent poll by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland found that the country was struggling to find expert accountants.
