Senior executives give business advice
Business experts from the UK and America have released their top ten tips on how to become a chief executive officer.

Careers site TheLadders.co.uk asked a panel of senior executives what they believed employees needed to help them advance in their career, Online Recruitment reports.

Having a broad range of skills as well as the ability to work across different industries and knowledge of various positions was considered important.

Also mentioned were the need for dedication, listening to co-workers and leadership skills that had been challenged.

Jobseekers were advised to make a profile of themselves and their work to win recognition and to network, both online and offline, to build up contacts.

General manager of TheLadders.co.uk Sarah Drew said she hoped the advice would "encourage our ambitious jobseekers to make the right moves in the job search and careers".

Last month Bayfield Executive Search and Selection said that employees wanting to further their careers needed the ability to work in teams and a winning drive, similar to that of Olympic athletes.
