Scottish recruitment 'remains steady' during downturn
10-02-2009
Despite the current economic downturn, recruitment levels in Scotland remain fairly steady, results of a new survey have revealed.
Antal International's Global Snapshot survey for the winter of 2008/2009 shows that 54 per cent of Scottish employers are currently taking on people to fill managerial vacancies.
The research also found that 35 per cent of UK firms in the sales and marketing sector are expecting to hire in the next quarter of the year.
Adam Kaye, who runs Antal's operations in the UK, said: "The fact that fewer companies plan to let people go in the near future is encouraging and suggests that UK business is cautiously waiting to see what the coming months have in store."
A survey conducted by TalentScotland.com recently revealed that that Scotland is the first place in the UK many jobseekers would like to relocate to for work, Online Recruitment reported.
