Following its recent award of best UK workplace from the Great Place to Work Institute, search engine company Google has explained why it is a successful employer.
Liane Hornsey from the human resources department at Google told Personnel Today that there is a "big emphasis on hiring" at the company.
"We try very hard to find the right people, people who will fit in with the Google culture, because we believe that if you can hire the right people, then everything else just flows from that," she remarked.
Furthermore, the firm - which last year gave each staff member a new bicycle - is "built on trust", Ms Hornsey added.
The Great Place to Work Institute awards surveyed 1.5 million adults in order to identify prize winners.
And ZDNet reported that Microsoft also scooped an award at the ceremony, winning the best large workplace in Europe gong.
