Holiday camp company Pontins has unveiled plans to create 2,000 new jobs as part of a £50 million redevelopment plan.
The UK holiday organisation stated the new posts would be created at its six camps in the UK, with its famous Bluecoats among those set to be recruited.
Bar and restaurant staff are also set to see numbers increase, with Pontins seeing a "significant increase" in bookings for the summer season.
Pontins presently operates locations at Camber Sands, Southport, Prestatyn Sands, Brean Sands, Blackpool, and Pakefield. The company was bought last year by Ocean Parcs for £46m deal.
Ian Smith, Oceans Parcs chief executive, said: "It is particularly rewarding to be able to announce these plans which will not only generate increased tourism but create over 2,000 new jobs while the country is in a recession."
The news comes as warnings from PricewaterhouseCoopers suggest the UK travel industry could be in for a torrid 2009.
The Pakefield Holiday Centre in Suffolk is set to benefit, with development expected to double its size and capacity.
Holiday centres at Brean Sands and Prestatyn Sands will be completely refurbished and Camber Sands and Ainsdale-on-sea in Southport will be completely re-designed and re-built, Ocean Parcs confirmed.
Clarke Osborne, property director at Ocean Parcs, said: "We have been working on our next generation of holiday centres for over nine months and I think that the results of this careful design strategy will be very well received by both our extensive and loyal customer base and new customers that are joining us each year."
