Panasonic 'aims to cut costs with HR improvements'
22-04-2009
In order to cut costs and improve the quality of the department for its employees, Panasonic has stated that it is taking steps to improve it human resources (HR) departments.
Speaking to Personnel Today, company HR director Richard Mills explained that the firm is hoping to improve its HR operations to produce a "road map" of how things should be done in the future.
So far, Panasonic has already switched to a new healthcare provider which has offered staff better healthcare benefits as well as having the potential to save 40 per cent on costs.
Mr Mills continued: "There's no point in having a benefits strategy and policies on travel, expenses and private health if it's not helping us attract or retain employees."
"Our switch [of provider] is as much about improving quality as it is cutting costs."
Meanwhile, Avon has announced it wants to recruit more women to fill the flexible working vacancies it is currently offering.
