Online recruitment dipped in the month of September, the latest figures have revealed.
The Monster Employment Index has shown a fall in recruitment over the last month, but the overall score is still up 30 per cent compared to last year.
Staff demand increased in August but fell five points in September, which, according to the firm, is due to a lack of demand for engineers, technicians and associate professionals.
Regional director of the firm Andrea Bertone comments that the jobs growth has been strong throughout the last year and it is not unusual for employment to drop slightly in September.
It is not uncommon for online recruitment to fall slightly in September - the same trend was seen in 2006," she remarks.
Furthermore, the survey noted a decline in demand for banking, finance and insurance professionals.
Despite this blip, ClickAJob chief executive Yngve Traberg continues to be optimistic.
"Seasonal fluctuations are to be expected," he says, "the overall trend is clearly upward."
