Older workers 'benefit from new training techniques'
Older employees are getting to grips with modern technology as a new survey has revealed that many managers are turning to eBooks, social networking and online videos for training.

Methods which are traditionally seen to be the territory of the Gen Y working population are thought to be more effective than traditional training as they allow employees to adopt their own learning styles, Management Today reports.

The report by the Chartered Management Institute reveals that 51 per cent of older workers say they have now used online video while 34 per cent have been on social networking sites.

These methods are often cheaper for employers and also gives companies the chance to make sure their staff are at the top of their game.

Last week, Travel Weekly reported on a survey by People 1st and ABTA which found that training was a top priority for job seekers looking to enter the travel industry.
