A new training scheme has been launched at the Trade Unions Congress in Brighton.
The unionlearn Climbing Frame will help employees plan their training route and help bosses track the progression of their staff.
It has also been pitched as a tool that can combine with employers' pre-existing development initiatives. Training needs of staff can also be identified using the new training programme.
Commenting on the development, unionlearn director Liz Smith remarks that the scheme will benefit all those involved in union learning.
"Unionlearn is working hard to develop tools such as the Climbing Frame that are designed to meet the needs of trade union members, but can also encompass employers' training needs," she comments.
Recently, the TUC urged employers to work hard to bridge the skills gap in the UK.
TUC general secretary Brendan Barber commented that the situation will only get worse unless employers sign up to government-led initiatives and take advantage on the cash on offer to help improve the development of their staff.
