Barclays has announced that it is to recruit more MBA graduates to its global retail and commercial banking (GRCB) division in 2008.
Following its initial drive in September, which saw 26 MBA graduates enter the world of GRCB, the firm has said that it may create as many as 50 positions in September next year.
Those hoping to enter the programme will have to speak at least two languages the firm asserted, with the three-year programme the graduates will be embarking on will take place over three different global locations.
Lucy Tarrant, MBA Manager at Barclays GRCB, told the paper that MBA graduates are being selected specifically as they provide a "quicker return on investment".
She added: "Barclays has an ambitious growth profile."
Furthermore, a summer internship programme is to be launched in the summer for 20 MBA first-year students.
The bank recently announced it is to recruit 800 new workers for its Wealth arm.
