Nearly ten million people in the UK are not in the right job for them, a survey has revealed.
According to the 2009 Randstad Employment Trends Survey, 9.5 million workers think they are unable to reach their full potential in their current job, Human Resources reports.
A further 12 million are unhappy with their boss and 34 per cent feel that their company culture prevents them from performing to their highest standard.
Di Hartley, head of strategic HR at Randstad, said that keeping employees motivated so that productivity is maintained is vital during the recession.
"Yet firms are failing to engage their workforce by placing people in the wrong role with the wrong boss, even the wrong company," she added.
Monster has previously claimed that employers need to be honest with their workers if they want them to be confident and productive in their job roles.
