Four in five British workers are satisfied with their jobs and are not looking to leave, according to new research.
Employees in the UK are largely happy as a result of good remuneration and effective management, reports the Peninsula BusinessWise survey.
Respondents were overwhelmingly positive about their jobs, with the key factor financial incentives.
When employees were asked what made them happy in their current role, 43 per cent identified pay as the determining factor - well above the second most common cause, effective management (19 per cent).
The third most common factor, corporate benefits, which was listed as the foremost incentive by 17 per cent, underlined the suggestion that Britons' value perks and pay.
With more than three-quarters of respondents saying they were not looking to leave their current job, Peninsula managing director Peter Done said employees appeared to be "motivated by one thing" - money.
"The business environment is becoming increasingly cutthroat, and in order for employers to keep hold of their top employees they are being forced to break the bank," he noted.
Peninsula polled almost 1,400 employees in the poll, drawing from a variety of different industries.
