Jobseekers looking for engineering work may be pleased to hear that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) is looking to take on new recruits.
Personnel Today reports that nearly 200 new engineering apprentices will be taken on the by the government body over the next two years.
The MoD Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) site in Bristol is hoping to hire 170 more apprentices by 2012 as part of a three-year training programme.
They will be hired to work on some of the UK's "most advanced" engineering and equipment projects at the DE&S.
Kevin O'Donoghue, leader of the DE&S and chief of defence material, said: "The successful applicants will be trained to fill roles within DE&S teams that directly or indirectly support front line equipment acquisition."
