Maternity coaching 'may motivate mothers returning to work'

Maternity coaching may be one of the best ways to ensure that mothers are motivated and ready to return to work, it has been claimed.
According to Personnel Today, people leaving to have a baby can be one of the biggest threats to a firm's team of quality people.
This is because women are often away for up to a year, come back and then quit, either because their job role is different or because they can no longer get the work-life balance right.
Joy Bussell, a maternity coach working for the Executive Coaching consultancy, believes that training should be offered to show women that having a child does not have to mean their career is over.
"Women returners feel the need to validate themselves," she said. "They are keen to show they have an important contribution to make."
One Parent Families Gingerbread has previously claimed that many single parents are keen to get into employment but cannot find jobs which offer them flexible working hours.
