Manpower survey predicts tremendous 2005

Recruiters can expect a bumper New Year, with employers more optimistic than they have been for six years about hiring prospects.

According to Manpower's quarterly survey, employers are reporting their highest levels of New Year recruitment confidence since 1998.

The survey reported a net employment outlook of +14%, meaning the number of employers planning to increase staff is 14 percentage points greater than the number planning to reduce staff.

However results in Europe were not so positive, particularly in Germany, where the number of companies expecting to lay off staff rose for the first time in two months.
