A new survey has revealed that managers have received an average of a four per cent pay rise in recent months.
Conducted by Income Data Services (IDS), the research revealed that private sector bosses have seen salary increases above the rest of the economy, keeping up with the rate of inflation.
A 4.2 per cent rise by private sector managers was recorded by IDS, with public sector bosses receiving a 3.2 per cent salary increase.
Steve Tatton of IDS was reported by the Press Association as saying: "January is a key date in the annual pay round and salary awards at the start of the year tend to set the pace for coming months."
He added that he expects that the wage rises to continue into the spring, unless inflation starts to slow.
Last week, AllTheTopBananas.com revealed that the average advertised job salary in London is £38,998.
