Working in the logistics industry could offer benefits to jobseekers looking for a new career path, it has been suggested.
According to acting chief executive of Skills for Logistics Dr Mick Jackson, there are "a wide variety of opportunities" open to people of all ages and backgrounds.
He described the logistics industry as one of the country's "best kept secrets".
Dr Jackson added that more female workers should consider making a move into the area, stating: "Organisations like Skills for Logistics are raising the profile of the sector and encouraging more women to play an integral part in this exciting and challenging industry."
The Labour Market Profile noted that out of all the logistics positions in Greater London, 29 per cent are filled by women.
However, this is lower than the total percentage of women in work in Greater London, which stands at 45 per cent.
