Lloyds TSB unveiled as first London 2012 sponsor
London's 2012 Olympic Games has revealed high street bank Lloyds TSB as its first domestic partner.

Focussing on bringing the Games to a wider community and youth participation, Lloyds TSB is set to announce a series of development programmes over the next few months.

It aims to provide performance spaces and big screens to "connect communities" during the Games.

In return Lloyds TSB gains exclusive category marketing and access rights to the British teams at the Beijing 2008 and Vancouver 2010 Games and is able to use the London 2012 brandmark, which will be unveiled later this year.

"It is a milestone moment in the history of the Games and we couldn't wish for a better first partner to join us on the journey to London 2012," Sebastian Coe, chairman of the London 2012 Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG), said.

"Lloyds TSB is a great British company, with a strong presence throughout the country, and their support will help us deliver a Games that engages and inspires the whole nation and leaves a truly lasting and sustainable legacy."

Sir Victor Blank, Lloyds TSB chairman, said that his company was proud to be associated with the Games which he anticipated would "probably be the most important event to take place in Britain in our lifetime".

"We share LOCOG's excitement and vision as we embark on this journey," he said.

"Over the next five years, we will work with our staff, our customers and our local communities to help make 2012 the most inspiring Games ever."
