Not being able to see natural light in the office makes workers feel depressed, according to a new survey from BT and Ciao Research.
The report found that 22 per cent of workers witness only 20 minutes of sunshine a day.
It therefore recommended that companies take advantage of new technologies such as Wi-Fi internet connections to allow staff to work out of the office environment.
"The number of Wi-Fi enabled devices flying off the shelves coupled with widely available hotspots provides the tools to support remote working," Dave Hughes, director of wireless broadband for BT, said.
He added: "Let's just hope the British weather plays along this summer!"
More than 75 per cent of Britons have had their personal information breached while in public places, according to recent research from Regus, which it blamed on the increase in remote working.
