Office workers should ensure they take a break during their summer holidays this year, a human resources expert has advised.
Stephen Seymour from The Urquhart Partnership stressed the importance of taking a break from the office and enjoying leisure time with friends and family, Online Recruitment reports.
He said that some people may be tempted to take their laptop to the beach with them, but warned that this can be detrimental to relationships.
"Rather than fretting over emails and deadlines, workers should take a well-earned break and then return to the office replenished and ready for business," he suggested.
Mr Seymour also noted the British employees work the longest hours in Europe. In line with this, a recent Reed employment poll found that eight out of ten UK workers regularly take a lunch break of less than half an hour.
