Jobseekers looking for work in the law industry may find they have plenty of opportunities for employment as it is claimed that it is "always a promising career path".
According to Sarah Shemmings, partner of Silver Shemmings LLP, the legal profession may fare far better than other sectors during the economic downturn as people will always need legal aid.
She also added that although the property side of the profession may be suffering, other areas are doing particularly well.
"[The] main areas in the commercial side are commercial, debt and professional negligence claims," Ms Shemmings added.
Catherine Davey, a partner at Stevens & Bolton LLP, furthered these comments saying that employment lawyers are also very busy at the moment, unfortunately because of the number of redundancies currently taking place.
"Corporate lawyers are probably a bit quieter," she added.
