With employees becoming more uncertain towards the security of their jobs, it is essential to maintain morale in times of economic crisis, according to business consultant Score.
The firm offered advice on how to keep employees happy and productive, the first being abolishing any fixed ideas towards them and approaching workers from fresh angles.
Managers should also allow their workforce to evaluate their performance and consequently adjust their methods, Score said.
Other important factors in bolstering employee morale include giving rewards where they are due, making sure workers have the materials they require to work and paying for appropriate training, Management Issues related.
Score said that staying in the loop when it comes to workplace occurrences and remaining acquainted with individuals and their expectations should be priorities too.
Over two-thirds of UK employees recently said their managers created negative workplace environments, Hay Group found.
