Primark 'may increase job opportunities' after sales announcement

Jobseekers may be pleased to learn that there could be vacancies in the retail sector arising in the future.
Following Primark's announcement that sales have increased, BDO Stoy Hayward believes that the retailer will have more job opportunities on offer as it looks to raise its headcount.
However, it is unlikely that this recruitment process will be at the "same aggressive rate as in the past" as sales could also slow down in the future, stated the firm.
Rupert Eastell, head of retail at BDO Stoy Hayward, said: "We were surprised that sales had increased, but feel that much of their success is down to their ability to focus on replicas of high fashion unlike other low-end high street stores."
According to the British Retail Consortium, because of the economic downturn, the outlook for the retail industry is the toughest it has been for decades.
