Employment in the IT sector was strong at the end of 2006 with a positive continuation predicted for the coming year, according to new findings released this week.
Computer People has published its analysis for the final quarter of 2006 of the UK's contract and permanent job market and found that salaries in regions outside of the capital are now almost equal to those paid in London.
Average salary demands are recorded as being the highest since the dotcom boom in 2000. Moreover, the analysis by the IT recruiter shows that the IT sector is expanding up to three times faster in the regions other than London, recruitermagazine.com reports.
An increase in the amount of off-shored lower level support roles is expected and the recruiters warned that the most vulnerable groups to be outsourced are developers and pc support engineers because they have business skills as well as technical skills.
