There is still recruitment taking place for IT contractors, it has been revealed.
Recruiter has reported that according to Powerchex, IT job offers from financial firms were down by 75 per cent in December compared to November.
However, this trend has not been echoed in the IT contracting industry, where managers are continuing to make placements and recruit new workers.
Satnam Brar, managing director of IT recruiter Maximus, said: "We are finding growth in a lot of the intelligence markets. Clients want to be achieving more from their systems, especially on the financial side."
Because of this, new members of staff are being required to cope with demand.
Earlier this week, It contractors were warned against lying on their CVs to help them find a job, according to Contractor UK.
Powerchex encouraged jobseekers to take a more structured approach to their employment search.
