More jobseekers are turning to recruitment agencies to help them find work because of the number of redundancies in the UK, it has been found.
Although some agencies now have to take on extra workers to deal with demand, those with highly automated application processes are coping well with the influx of candidate registrations, Recruiter reports.
However, it has been discovered that those which are employing more people are able to provide a better service as the consultants can spend more time finding placements for the extra candidates.
Tim Asti, director of professional and technical recruitment in the UK and Northern Ireland for Kelly Services, said: "The real skill is getting the recruiters to understand the needs of the applicant."
Earlier this week, the latest figures from the Monster Employment Index revealed that the use of online recruitment remains strong in the healthcare and education sectors.
