Human resources (HR) professionals are one of the most charitable sectors, new research has suggested.
According to a study conducted by people4charity.com, personnel workers top the poll for the most giving professionals as they are most likely to cut their rates when working for third sector organisations.
Management consultants were also found to be very charitable, which Duncan Taylor of people4charity.com described as "confounding their stereotype", while HR workers were "living up to theirs".
He added that freelance lawyers are also near the top of the survey.
"What is noteworthy from this research is that giving to charity through skills is on the increase among freelance workers," he said.
Questioning 9,000 freelance workers across ten sectors, the poll discovered that finance and accounting professionals offer the lowest discounts when working with not-for-profit organisations.
