HR employees 'jobs make them sick'
Those working in human resources (HR) and accountancy are the most likely to fall sick because of their roles, a survey has found.

Benenden Healthcare carried out the poll and found that 68 per cent of accountants asked said their jobs had caused them to feel run down.

Of the HR professionals questioned, 29 per cent claimed their jobs had made them ill and 56 per cent said they were tired out by their roles.

Paul Keenan of the company claimed that the research shows how the credit crunch is making people feel more "pressure to work hard and prove their worth to their bosses."

He added: "It is important for employers to take into account the health impact work can have on their employees and that they ensure they get sufficient rest time to recuperate from illness."

Another survey undertaken by Badenoch and Clark recently found that though HR employees claimed their workload had significantly increased, the majority are happier in their jobs now than a month ago.
