Recruitment in the hotel industry could remain strong following Travelodge's announcement that it plans to open 22 new hotels between now and Christmas, is has been reported.
According to recruiter, the hospitality company says 450 new jobs will be created by its expansion, news which has been welcomed by industry professionals.
It has also been claimed that the threat of recession the UK will not affect the hotel sector as people will always need places to stay.
Paula Rogers, managing director at hospitality staffing firm Admiral, said: "I think it is a message to say it is business as usual. People will still need to stay in hotels for business and pleasure."
She also said it is "brilliant" that Travelodge is "carrying on with their plans".
The company aims to have 1,000 hotels across the country by 2020 and currently employs around 5,000 staff. Around 6.5 million people stayed in a Travelodge last year.
