Many students acting quickly when it comes to finding a job, Sarah Shillingford, the graduate recruitment partner at Deloitte, stated.
"The traditional autumn recruiting season has moved forward, with a large number of students applying for and securing their graduate job in the summer before their final year," she said.
Ms Shillingford warned those graduating next year to consider their career choices and "start applying for roles from July this year".
She added that the uncertain economy may have led to tighter labour market conditions and more intense competition for graduate roles.
Recent research by university applications service Ucas revealed that the number of A-level students applying for undergraduate courses has increased by seven per cent.
