Graduates are using the internet more than any other medium to search for jobs, it has been revealed.
A survey by Milkround.com discovered that 83 per cent of graduate and student jobseekers will use the web to help find them work, as they find the internet the most useful source available to them.
Spokesperson for the firm Mike Barnard commented that grads are using specific company websites to discover if they are offering what they are looking for.
"It is encouraging to see them also choosing to access specific companies directly, taking the initiative when and being specific about who they would like to work for," he said.
He added that student life in general is based around the internet and "companies cannot afford not to advertise online".
Careers fairs were the next most popular source for finding work after a degree followed by the national press.
ClickAJob chief executive Yngve Traberg said yesterday that online recruitment is an attractive medium for job hunters.
"The advantages of low-cost, quick results and the internet's incredible drawing power continue to make online recruitment one of the fastest growing business phenomena around," he remarked.
