Designer label Ted Baker says it is looking forward to 2007 with the utmost confidence after seeing profits rise 9.2 per cent in the last year.
Earnings at the British clothing retailer were up to £20 million from £18.4 million in the 12 months ending January 27th.
The group, which started with a single outlet run by now chief executive Ray Kelvin in 1988, said overall revenue increased 6.6 per cent to £125.6 million in 2006, driven by growth on both sides of the Atlantic.
But today's results also point to the opening of two licensed stores in Dubai, and one each in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Hong Kong as indicative of the worldwide strength of the brand.
Mr Kelvin said today: "As Ted Baker continues its global expansion we are pleased to report yet another year of success for the brand.
"Quintessentially British, Ted Baker's high product quality and attention to detail continue to drive the growth of the group. We pride ourselves on our unique culture, which is inherent in all our products and operations, both in the UK and internationally."
The chief executive added that the development of Ted Baker in the Middle East and Asia had contributed to overall licence income rising 14.3 per cent.
"We remain confident in the long-term strength of the group and look forward to the year with confidence," Mr Kelvin concluded.
