The FTSE 100 was up a touch this morning on a slow morning of trading.
At 9:06 GMT, the index was up 0.52 per cent of 21.70 points to 4,270.86.
Last night in New York the Dow Jones was a little depressed falling 0.69 per cent, while in Asia the Hang Seng fell 2.75 per cent but the Nikkei rose 1.57 per cent.
In Europe this morning, the Dax was up 0.05 per cent, while the Cac 40 was up just 0.78 per cent.
Back in London, Schroders Non Voting continued its recent volatility rising 4.05 per cent, while BAE system gained 3.65 per cent.
Royal Bank of Scotland was up 3.62 per cent, Home Retail gained 3.55 per cent and the Whitbread rose 2.92 per cent.
Legal & General fell 5.53 per cent, Eurasian dropped 3.06 per cent and London Stock Exchange was down 2.51 per cent.
